Monster High Frankie Stein

Packaging: Frankie comes in a nicely made blue, wedge shape window box. The windows (on top and in front) show off the figure nicely. There is no question as to what you are getting. The box has a ton of great graphics; these boxes are big eye catchers. The right side of the box has the "Monster High: Freaky Just Got Fabulous!" logo. At the bottom is the name of the character, in this case Frankie Stein, and who is their parent (Daughter of Frankenstein). The left side of the box has an animated picture of Frankie, the "Monster High" logo again and the skull with a bow. The back shows a large animated image of Frankie and has a large bio about her. It gives her age, parents, style, flaws, pet, Favorite activity, Pet Peeve, Favorite School Subject, Least Favorite School Subject, Favorite Color, Favorite Food, and her BFF's. Below that are animated pictures of the other dolls that can be purchased. Inside the box, there is a catch phrase for Frankie, "Stiched together with style!", great graphics, and a "Includes doll stand and diary!" phrase. Mattel really went all out on these dolls. I love it! This doll, however, took forever to get out of the box. She is kept in with plastic bands and hard plastic holders that go into her head that you have to cut. This box is not collector friendly. If you open her you will not get her back in the box the way she came out.

Hair: Frankie has waist length black and white stripped hair with a section that has been pulled back at the top. It is well done with no gaps. She has the perfect amount of hair. The hair can be easily styled and is soft to the touch.

Paint: The paint work on Frankie is fantastic! Her eyes are very detailed with no sloppy edges. She has stitches painted all over her body.

Outfit: Frankie comes wearing a fabulous short plaid dress. It has a white collar with black zig zag stiches and mesh short sleeves. She has a tie which is polka dotted and has a Monster High skull logo plastic button on it. She has a detailed soft plastic belt hanging loosely around her waist. The plastic chain hanging off the side is sewed onto her dress to keep the belt on. She has silver chain earrings with a blue version of the skull logo on them. These are made of hard plastic. On her left wrist is a small blue bracelet. Her shoes are high heel, black and white stripes. Everything is very well made with no visible stray threads or abnormalities in the plastic.

Articulation and Body Sculpt: Frankie has a lot of joint movement on her arms. However, be very careful! Her hands and arms easily come off of her body. Do not worry if this happens; it is meant to. This is so you can easily change outfits. She has all the movement a normal human has: spin head, back and forth wrist, bent elbows, full shoulder movement, hip movement, and jointed knees. Her feet are not jointed.

Accessories: Frankie comes with her pet Wazit, a purse, and a hair brush. Wazit appears to be a dog though Frankie explains on the back of the box that he is made of many different animals. I'm not really impressed with him. He is all one sculpt. The paint work is not great. He has a lot of paint marks around his body. The purse is very detailed. It is all hard plastic with no working parts except the straps which fit over Frankie's arm. The main part is a textured black with the skull logo on one side. The straps are red with little silver dots lining them. She also has her sliver stand. It is well made and will hold Frankie well. Becareful putting the doll into the waist holder. It's a bit tight.

Overall: Frankie is a really great doll! I'm not sure how she will react with a lot of hard play by kids due to her weak arm joints. It may be a good idea to super glue the hands and arms in if you are going to give this doll to a younger child. I feel these dolls are more for gentle children, older kids, and adult collectors. I would definitely recommend this doll to anyone that asked me. If you want any of these dolls go out and search soon! They are flying off the shelves (with the exceptions of Duece and Cleo). Lagoona is practically impossible to find.
